Learn how page breaks work and how to control them when creating or editing documents and templates. You can manually force page breaks or use smart section settings to manage how content flows across pages.
📌 Note: These controls are available only to admin users creating templates in the Template Builder.
Add a manual page break
Use a manual page break when you want to force content onto a new page at a specific point.
Open the document or template in the editor.
Choose where you want to add the break, then place your cursor at that point.
Click Page Break to insert the break.
🤓 Tip: To remove a manual page break in the CV Editor, place your cursor immediately after the break, then press Backspace.
Control automatic page breaks using section settings
Use section settings to improve readability and prevent awkward page splits within sections such as Experience or Education.
Keep a section on one page
Use this setting to prevent a section from splitting across pages.
Open the template in the Template Builder.
Select the section you want to control.
Enable Never Break Section to keep the entire section on a single page.
This is ideal for shorter sections or when you want to keep related content grouped together.
Prevent orphaned lines
Use this setting to control how many lines appear before a page break.
Open the template in the Template Builder.
Select the section you want to adjust.
Set the minimum number of lines allowed before a break using Prevent Orphaned Lines.
This helps avoid single lines appearing at the top or bottom of a page, improving overall readability.
